Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: April 2026
1. Our Commitment
TrueNest Senior Home Living is committed to making our website accessible to everyone — including seniors, family members, caregivers, and people with disabilities.
Our website serves families who are often navigating a stressful and emotional time. We believe everyone deserves equal access to the information and services we provide, regardless of ability.
We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards across our entire website.
2. Accessibility Standards
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
WCAG is built on four principles. Web content should be:
- Perceivable — information must be presented in ways users can see, hear, or otherwise detect
- Operable — navigation and interactive elements must work for all users, including those using keyboards or assistive technology
- Understandable — content and navigation must be clear and predictable
- Robust — content must work reliably across different browsers and assistive technologies
We go beyond the minimum AA requirements in several areas. For example, our body text meets AAA contrast ratios (7:1 or higher), exceeding the AA minimum of 4.5:1.
3. Accessibility Features
We have built the following accessibility features into our website:
- Skip navigation link on every page, allowing keyboard users to jump directly to the main content
- Full keyboard navigation — every feature on our website can be used without a mouse
- Screen reader support — we use semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and descriptive labels so screen readers can navigate our content accurately
- High contrast text — all body text meets AAA contrast ratios (7:1 or higher) against our background colors
- Large, readable text — our minimum body text size is 18 pixels, and we never use font sizes below 16 pixels on mobile devices
- Touch-friendly design — all buttons, links, and interactive elements have a minimum tap target of 44 to 48 pixels, making them easy to use on touchscreens
- Reduced motion support — if you have enabled "reduce motion" in your device settings, all animations and transitions on our website are automatically disabled
- Windows High Contrast mode support — our website respects Windows High Contrast settings for users who need maximum visual clarity
- No auto-playing media — all videos and audio on our website require you to press play before they start
- Descriptive link text — we use clear, meaningful link text so you always know where a link will take you
- Logical heading structure — our pages follow a clear heading hierarchy (H1 through H4) so screen readers and assistive technology can navigate content easily
4. Browser and Assistive Technology Support
Our website is designed to work with:
- Current versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge
- Screen readers including VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), NVDA (Windows), and JAWS (Windows)
- Browser zoom up to 500% without requiring horizontal scrolling
We set our viewport to allow zooming up to 5x magnification, so users who need larger text can zoom in without losing content.
5. Known Limitations
While we work hard to make every part of our website accessible, some areas may have limitations:
- Google Maps embeds on our contact and about pages rely on Google's own accessibility features, which we do not control
- Some older blog images may have less descriptive alternative text — we are working to review and improve these over time
If you find any content on our website that is not accessible to you, please let us know. We take every report seriously and will work to fix the issue.
6. Feedback and Contact
If you experience any difficulty accessing content on our website, or if you have suggestions for how we can improve accessibility, we want to hear from you.
You can reach us by:
- Email: [email protected]
- Phone: (704) 765-5262
- Our contact page
We aim to respond to all accessibility feedback within 5 business days. If you need information from our website in an alternative format, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
7. Continuous Improvement
Web accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. We regularly review and test our website to identify and fix accessibility issues.
As web accessibility standards evolve, we are committed to updating our website to meet or exceed those standards.
